These terms explain the rules for using SokoSwift UK. By creating an account or posting an ad you agree to them. We’ve kept them as short and plain as we can.
1. What SokoSwift UK is
SokoSwift UK is an online classifieds marketplace. We provide the website that lets people and businesses post ads and contact each other. We are not a party to any sale. The contract for any item or service is between the buyer and the seller.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your password safe. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- Choose the right account type. If you sell as part of a trade or business, you must use a business account. Buyers have stronger legal rights when buying from a business, and they need to know who they’re dealing with.
- One person or business per account. Don’t create accounts to get around a ban.
3. Posting rules
Every ad must be for a real item, service, job or property that you have the right to offer, at an honest price, with accurate photos and description.
You must not post ads for:
- Anything illegal to sell or own in the UK
- Weapons, including knives, firearms, replicas, crossbows and ammunition
- Drugs, legal highs, drug paraphernalia, prescription-only medicines and unlicensed supplements
- Counterfeit, stolen or recalled goods
- Tobacco, vapes, alcohol and age-restricted products
- Live animals
- Adult content or services
- Financial products, loans or investments (including crypto schemes)
- Personal data, accounts, documents or ID
- Jobs that charge applicants a fee, or “work from home” and pyramid schemes
You must not:
- Post misleading prices, fake ads, or the same ad many times
- Ask buyers to pay by bank transfer before they’ve seen an item, or use the chat to send scam links
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against other members
- Scrape the site or collect members’ details
- Post fake reviews or pay for reviews
4. Property and job ads
Landlords and agents must follow UK housing law, including the rules on deposits, discrimination and Right to Rent. Employers must follow UK employment law and must not ask applicants for money. Job ads must show the real pay where possible.
5. Moderation and reporting
Anyone can report an ad or member using the Report button. We review reports and may remove ads, suspend accounts, or share information with the police where the law allows. We aim to review reports within 24 hours. If we remove your ad and you think we’ve made a mistake, contact us and we’ll look again. You can also use our contact form to make a complaint about how we’ve handled something.
6. Ads, expiry and your content
Ads run for 14 days and can be renewed free of charge, as often as you like. You keep ownership of what you post, but you give us permission to display it on SokoSwift UK and to use it to promote your ad (for example, sharing it on our social media). Only post photos you own or have permission to use.
7. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep SokoSwift UK safe, but we can’t check every ad or guarantee that items are as described, that sellers will deliver, or that buyers will pay. Please follow our safety tips. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Changes and ending your account
We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in your local courts.
